Imagine
It's been a while since I've been here; work has kept me fairly occupied. Outside of work, I've also been more intentional in spending quality time with family. All of this to say, I have missed this corner of the internet very much. I've missed coming here and putting unstructured and often unprocessed thoughts together. Thankfully, when I'm not here, I still use a physical journal to scramble my thoughts as a daily practice. It feels good to be back here, I have no idea where today's prompt will take us...IMAGINE - I'm thinking this could possibly take us in a different direction because in this space, imagination can run wild.
For as long as I can remember, I've always had a wild imagination. Even as a child, I could easily get lost in imagination, and I know for a fact it wasn't anything like fantasy. It was purely me closing my eyes and often imagining a different world; in this world, it was always sunny with clear blue skies. My favourite thing to do whenever I was bored and outside, I'd lie down and look at the sky and imagine faraway places where everything was green and there were always lots of sunflowers. In this space, I'd feel the most joy, and the air will be light and uber fresh.
Today, as an adult, I still imagine a lot of sunshine and fields of sunflowers, the irony, though, is the fact that my favourite kind of weather is when clouds are heavy with rain. So, on this rainy Monday afternoon in my little cosy Cape Town apartment, I imagine one day having a house full of love and warmth, a space of gathering of people, books, delicious food, deep meaningful conversations in front of fireplaces with a strong smell of freshly brewed coffee. I imagine lots of laughter and the kind of feelings that let you know you are deeply loved in all of your being.
